Heel Pain Treatments

The Washington Heel Pain Center uses the latest technology and treatments for heel pain. Our unique protocols have a significant success rate patients rave about. Our plantar fasciitis treatment success rate approaches 95%. We are confident our plantar fasciitis treatment will get you back on your feet.

We have developed a series of protocols that are highly effective at treating the causes of heel pain. We are often able to help patients that have already been to numerous clinics and have not responded to other treatments. Heel pain is one of the most common and painful conditions that we treat. We provide both surgical and nonsurgical heel pain treatment options. Surgery is considered a last resort treatment option. However, if surgery becomes necessary we are fully equipped with our own on-site ambulatory surgery center.

Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. Classically, the pain is in the bottom of the heel and it is often present first thing morning or when one gets up from sitting. But, this is not always the case. Plantar fasciitis is most commonly seen in adults, but can also affect teenagers. Heel spurs are also a common cause of heel pain. Regardless of the severity, we have treatment options.

After Dr. Young or Dr. Nelson can evaluate your condition and severity of pain, the doctors will tailor a treatment plan that is specific to your needs. Surgery is typically avoidable and is only used if necessary. The doctors have had great success with their heel pain treatments such as dry needling, APC+ injections, cortisone injections and more. Some patients might be leery of an injection in their foot, but our office has a solution to this fear. We use a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) unit. The TENS unit works by sending stimulating pulses across the surface of the foot and along the nerve strands. These stimulating pulses contribute to preventing pain signals from reaching the brain, so a patient doesn’t even feel the injection as it’s happening. The doctors of Washington Heel Pain are not only providing relief to heel pain, but they are providing relief pain-free.

Nonsurgical Heel Pain Treatment Options

Surgery or even injection therapy is often avoidable. We provide nonsurgical heel pain treatments. These treatments include specific stretches, exercises, taping methods, prescription custom orthotics for heel pain, night splints for heel pain, and more. The doctors of the Washington Heel Pain Center always explore nonsurgical treatment options before recommending injection therapy or surgery for heel pain.
